Children's Book Launch: The Little Book of Architecture

Kitab Khana

The Little Book of Architecture by Harshada Bapat Shintre and Yashwant Pitkar is about Era and her friends playing on a holiday. It describes how they play hide and seek in the neighbourhood, go to the park and then have fun flying the kites. Architecture constantly surrounds us, interacts with us, and in the process, affects us. This book introduces children to the A to Z elements of architecture, in a playful and engaging way.

Column, door, staircase, window are the everyday encounters, but there are many more. Developing the vocabulary of built context will help them describe situations and observations in their everyday life. Every page in the book is a narration in itself, guided by the language of architecture to make children more observant and perceptive of the built environment that surrounds them.

The book will launched by the authors, followed by a talk with Kaiwan Mehta.
