Children's Event: Poetry-writing workshop with Sakshi Singh

Kitab Khana

Celebrate Children's Day with a special poetry-writing workshop with popular children's author and poet, Sakshi Singh.

Take in the joy and wonder of poetry by reading along with Sakshi from her book of poems, Jalebi Jingles. She will then guide children with writing their own poetry and reading them aloud.

Born in Agra, the home of the Taj Mahal, Sakshi wonders a lot and wanders too. Winter is her favourite season and when it was biting cold in Agra, she would layer herself in jackets and coats on her way to school. Sakshi loved the secret pocket inside her blazer, a pocket meant pockibilities or possibilities to keep a secret, a story or something you can share with friends!

When she is not writing, Sakshi is reading or rhyming with little ones at her Fresh Rhyme Water Workshops and therapeutic writing workshops for teenagers and adults under 'Words for Your Wellness'.

Sakshi loves writing as much as she loves to be written to. A hand-written letter almost always makes her feel better. You can send her a poem, a pic, a postcard, and be sure you will receive one in return.

Jalebi Jingles, her published collection of children's poems, is being used to teach poetry across schools in the UK and is also at the Buckingham Palace library.
